The eggs are coming in slow but sure. First egg on Saturday, then nothing until Tuesday-one egg. Wednesday-one egg. But today we got two eggs. This morning I heard them doing the egg cheer. Brawk, brawk, brawk, BEGAWK! Then when the boys got home from school there was another egg. I'm sooooo excited.
Health wise, I'm doing fine, slow but sure as well. ;0) I'm still sore in my shoulders, I'm told it's from the carbon dioxide they pump you up with. So, I'm dealing with that. I can only eat a little at a time, all soft foods. And I tire very easily. So, lots of napping. I'm looking forward to sleeping in my usual side position.

Wow! Look at all those eggs. Good job, hens! Give 'em a little extra scratch for a job well done, eh?
It's funny how folks think that hens are so much quieter than roos. My girls (and I've 15) all join in together to celebrate each egg-laying accomplishment all day long.
What a ruckus they make. lol!
My roosters crowing is actually quieter...and less annoying. hehe
(I love my girls, of course)
I'm glad to hear you're recuuperating well and getting some much needed naps, too.
Enjoy 'em while you can. The holiday season is upon us, ya know :)

Glad to hear you're recuperating; I missed the "surgery post" and have been scrolling around trying to figure out what happened! Get some rest!
Oh, what beautiful eggs..that extra dark brown one cracked me up - they're all Buffs...I would think that the color would be the same from all of them!
Grayson collected eggs from my coop this morning...it was hilarious..he understood the part about being careful when you first pick them up, but then he would practically fling them into the egg basket. Meanwhile, I'm dancing around him trying to "break" their fall with my hands before they got cracked. LOL
Still sending you speedy recover thoughts and wishes!
Glad to see the eggs coming in. They are young ladies now. May you have many omelets!
Glad to hear you are improving...don't overdo it. Take your time and take care of yourself.
Lisa: I agree, good job hens! They are noisy! I'm trying to rest, I really don't have much of a choice, my body insists upon it.
Lori: Well, it's not like you haven't been busy or something.
Danni: I was surprised by that one, it's the biggest so far, it also had white specks all over it. Yeah, he's a bull in a china shop, that boy. I love him to pieces.
Gail: Thanks, I'm trying. I'm hoping I will be magically back to myself next week so I can get some Christmas shopping in. We shall see.
Wow! Look at all the eggs. Good job, girls. I know you have to be totally excited when you go out there to collect those.
Giddy!
