Raising Boys

Hmmm, I'm not sure what the right way is to raise boys. I know it's hard to let them do all that boy stuff without feeling nervous, without saying "be careful". Without worry. But you get the worry whether you have boys or girls. Just different worry. My boys make me proud. They "usually" make the right choice, they are boys so sometimes the boy-ness gets the better of them. My husband says it's important to let them do all that "stuff" that gives me more gray hair. It helps them become self confident men. So, I let them do bb guns and climb trees and such. I just pray a lot! Here's a video of something that is turning my hair gray. I find myself holding my breath while I watch them. I love seeing them glow when they manage to start the bike by themselves or when they hop right back up after a minor crash. I hate the crashing! The laughter you hear in the background is my FIL. I think he's having as much fun watching as the boys are riding!

I cannot watch videos, I have dialup...but that little image there is enough for me!! My little man has been to the ER countless times in his three short years....I'm holding my breath too my friend. I often say he's going to kill himself, or me before all is said and done!! :/

Look at that them go on those dirt bikes! You guys have the perfect spot for them to do all that stuff. I bet they were having a blast.

Angie: They had a blast, even when they crashed. They got done and said it was worth the sore arms and legs, it was so much fun.

Marc: You gonna let K & J have a go in October? Better yet are you gonna try next week or in October?

Does it have to actually move if I am on it? How bout if I just sit there and look pretty?

OMG - how FUN...do it, marcee, DO IT!! I'd do it in a heartbeat if I were there. And I can't even SHOW my 16 year old this video...he's been wanting to do this for years, but we've never been in the right place or had friends with dirt bikes. What a super cool mom you are, Mim!! You'll never stop worrying, but it looks like they've certainly got adequate supervision and they're all helmetted up. Oh man, there's no doubt they're having a ball!!!

Marc: You can just sit on it next week. But come October you better be ready for locomotion! How about the lil 50 four wheeler? Four wheels on the ground to start out with. We'll take it slow. LOL

Danni: I will, in fact I'm getting ready right now to go out and try to ride the 80cc. I've ridden the lil dirt bike before. What I really want is a go-cart! Safety first! We have a rule at our house helmets on or no riding!
