The boys and I spent about an hour outside picking blackberries. We have wild blackberries all along our tree line. Now I just have to figure out what to do with them. Hmm, blackberry cobbler, blackberry jam, hmmm, I just don't know. Any suggestions?

Beautiful! The thing I miss most about the Midwest is how stuff just grows; you have blackberries along your tree line, I have deadly prickly pear cactus along my driveway. Jack went out yesterday with his work gloves on to pick prickly pear fruit to feed the birds in the back and ended up with hands full of thorns for his efforts. Not that blackberries don't have thorns (they do, don't they?) but still.
Blackberries and cream, blackberry smoothies... have you ever attempted jam? Can't wait to hear what you make with them.
uhhhh..anything would be fantastic. A cobbler. Sauce for ice cream. MMMMMMMMM....
shy_smiley: Yes they do have thorns. I still have a few in my thumb. ;0) I've made jam before but my boys don't like the seeds so I made it seedless. It was a pain. But today I found a food mill at one of my local resale shops, so hopefully it will be a little easier this time. I'll try to post pics of what I make.
frugalmom: I'm thinking cobbler and jam at this point.
