Coop Progress Update: Doors, Windows, Roosts

Windows can now be kept open.
Chicken door closed. It will slide open and that part hanging past the coop will be outside the chicken yard.
Chicken door in open position.
Future roosts!
See those hinges? Those make this panel on the backside of the coop flip up. Why do you ask? So, I can sweep out the coop of course. G is checking out the chicken door on the north side of the coop. That's for chicken tractor access.

Hey, look we already have a rooster! Oops, that's just G, he's growing out his summer haircut.

Wowee! I haven't been here for a long time. I need to get caught up. You've been busy!

Very clever coop design. Did you do a lot of research and decide on your favorite design elements or did you create these brilliant ideas on your own?

My husband will tell you that I spent hours and hours pouring over websites, google images, and blogs eyeing up coop and hen house design before I finally decided how I wanted ours to be.

Now I just want to paint it, but it keeps raining! haha

Good job!

farmgirl_dk: Thanks, that he's actually looking at the camera is a miracle. LOL Usually he looks away or makes a face at the last minute. He is super excited about the chicks. Thanks, the coop is coming together nicely.

twinville: Lots and lots of research, too much probably. My DH would say the same. Many, many hours online looking. Lots of books from the library, reading and reading. LOL I'm hoping we can prime and paint it this weekend.
